DONIE JABINES

My name is Donie Jabines, a street photographer from the Philippines. I started having interest in Photography three years ago when I registered for a Multipy account where most of my contacts are some of the finest Filipino photographers.

Personally, street photography is not only a career but an opportunity as well. It is neither scripted nor motivated. You are there to capture the moments happened daily in public or moments that might happened once in our lifetime.

In brief, we refer to Street Photography as an observation by means of a camera of daily public life, where the muse of the observer is, most often, the common man and his environment. It is documentary-like in method where the scene and subjects are photographed candid and un-staged.(Invisible Photography Asia)

My biggest achievement so far was winning a place for a photo exhibition last March 2012 at the SM North EDSA sponsored by Canon Philippines and WWF. With that, I am inspired to work better of my chosen craft.

Currently, I’ve been influenced by the works of Danish Street Photographer Thomas Leuthard and Japanese Street Photographer Junku Nishimura.
